In the words of Samuel Beckett, “Let us not waste our time in idle discourse!…Let us make the most of it, before it is too late!…Let us represent worthily…the foul brood to which a cruel fate consigned us!” From the Edge is reflective of the issues consuming American performance makers today: issues of identity, healing, death and loss after 9/11, war, political and religious polarities, race and gender. The works featured push the limits of how performance design is imagined in the USA today.
