Rio Medals
Have you wondered about the value of the metal in Olympic medals? This year, it's estimated that a gold medal is worth about $564 consisting of six grams of 99.9 percent pure gold with the rest of the medal being sterling silver. A Rio silver medal is worth about $305. Bronze medals are made of copper and zinc. |

Kimberly's Carats
In ancient Greece and Rome, kings and queens were convinced that blue sapphires protected their owners from envy and harm. In the Middle Ages clergy wore blue sapphires to symbolize Heaven, and ordinary folks thought the gem attracted heavenly blessings.
Sapphire is also associated with maybe the world’s most famous engagement ring: Kate Middleton’s and Princess Diana’s.

It's our 24th Anniversary!
Can you believe that it has been 24 years since Nancy started Gemstone Creations? The time has flown by - it seems like it was just a few years ago that she opened the store for the first time on September 1, 1992 at our previous location, 524 Caroline Street.
This year the dates of our anniversary event will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 1st, 2nd and 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
