We always love the arrival of our wintering bird friends. The yard is alive with chips and trills of Yellow-rumped Warblers (right), White-throated Sparrows (below, right), Hermit Thrushes, Juncos, Kinglets and more!

Our feeders aren't always as busy in the Fall, due to an abundance of natural foods like seeds, nuts and berries, but it won't be long before those resources run out and songbirds flock back to our seed and suet feeders! We look forward to seeing if this winter will bring Pine Siskins, Purple Finches or Red-breasted Nuthatches, irregular visitors whose numbers fluctuate annually.

Fall is a great time to give all your bird feeders a good cleaning, remove any old nests from bird houses, and add a bird bath heater to prevent cracking during freezing weather.
