Welcome Gardening Weather!
It is finally planting weather! Our family's patio garden is planted and flourishing. There are so many benefits of planting a vegetable garden with your children.
Gardening benefits the whole child:
- Gardening offers active and engaging connections to academics, from science and math to nutrition and literacy.
- Students remember information better when they design experiments, use more than one style of learning, and can share their newfound knowledge with others.
- Gardening captures kids' interest, teaches them nurturing skills, gives them a sense of pride in their accomplishments, introduces them to healthful foods, and provides a way to improve and give back to the community.
My kids eat more vegetables because of our garden...

The Pickaway County Board of Developmental Disabilities (PCBDD), sponsored by the Savings Banks, will be hosting FAME, a positive community event that will be showcasing various businesses in the area. FAME, which stands for “Fashion, Art, Music, and Entertainment,” is a FREE event designed to bring the people of Pickaway County together for a fun filled evening. Doors open at six o’clock, followed by a fashion show kickoff at six thirty.
