Labor Day historically signals the end of the summer fun and frolic and getting back to business and kids returning to school.
For us this signals a few things... First, the mornings are a little cooler and the mid-day heat is not as intense. Second, and our favorite, we will see
a gentle flow of more and more folks start making their way back to beautiful, sunny Arizona! We really enjoy hanging out with the folks that have braved the summer heat with us, but it is also fun to see familiar faces come popping back in our door!

Bonnie & Camille. Her festive quilt is pictured above. Wouldn't this make a terrific gift or be the perfect finishing touch to your guest room?

One more thing... Our Fall line of classes are starting up this week with some new and exciting opportunities! First is Mexican Stars w/Gail or Topsy Turvey Witch also w/ Gail. Then there is Bat Moon Rising or Christmas Tree w/ Connie, or how about Quilt As You Go Jelly Roll table runner class w/ Carrie. Later in September we are offering more classes with a range from bags, to thread sketching and painting, a block exchange and, of course, some exciting Judy Niemeyer classes with Cert. Instructor, Kelly Grant!

Thread Sketching 101 w/ Carrie will be held on Thurs., Sept. 20 from 9:30am-12:30pm. Explore thread sketching by outlining a fun fused image to create an interesting stitched picture with Carrie Olsen, Fiber Artist. You'll learn the basics of straight stitch tread sketching. She will share tips and tricks! Come join us. It's so much fun.

Oceanside Block Exchange w/ Karen will begin on Tues., Sept. 25th (receive material), Oct. 23rd (block exchange), Nov. 20th (project reveal). Dreaming of sitting the beach? This is a fun project for you! Our theme will be anything you see at the beach or in the water. The block size is 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" (finished at 9"x9").

Ice Crystals w/ Kelly begins on Thurs., Sept. 27 from 10am-4pm for 3 sessions. Ice Crystals was a big fan favorite at its release. This re-release features fabrics chosen by CI Kelly Grant, who will be teaching this class. The quilt used for the new cover sheet is hanging in our store. Winter Traditions is a new pattern that brings the crispness of snow into your home.

Paradise in Blooms TOM w/ Kelly begins on Thurs., Oct. 4 from 10am-4pm for 7 sessions.
Learn the basics of paper piecing and applique. Come and join Kelly for this 7 part class and cover everything from fabric selection, how to read the pattern, cutting and organization tips to piecing and assembly. There are two pattern sizes to choose from. Taught by Judy Niemeyer CI, Kelly Grant.

Wedding Ring Series w/ Kelly begins on Mon., Oct. 15 from 10am-4pm for 4 sessions. With so many different patterns and sizes to choose from, it is the perfect introduction to the fun of wedding ring quilts. Patterns include Flowers for My Wedding Ring, Grandma's Wedding Ring, Bali Wedding Star, Gemstone and Bali Bedrunner. Taught by Judy Niemeyer CI, Kelly Grant.

Thread Painting w/ Carrie will be held on Wed., Oct. 17 from 9:30am-3:30pm. Join Carrie in this exciting new class & explore the possibilities of black & white thread painting. You will learn how to take a black & white line drawing and transform it into a thread painted piece of art! Using free motion quilting you will learn techniques that will allow you to add texture & depth to any drawing.
