"Yarn Bombing" has hit Albia! We had a great time at our "I Love Yarn" event warming up the tree in front of the shoppe.
There are a few other surprises that were created that day. Thank you to everyone that participated. It was a wonderful event!

KNIT-A-LONG starts this Saturday, October 20th
Join us for a knit-a-long to make this "Classy Knit Jacket". We will start this Saturday, October 20th at 1 pm. Yarn is available at the Fiber Art Shoppe and the pattern is free. Cynthia will be our guide thru this knit-a-long. She will help us with customizing the pattern to our fit. If you can't join us this Saturday, please feel free to come on October 27th. Once you get started you will be able to work much of the sweater on your own.

Peruvian Diamonds Rigid Heddle Project
Our Rigid Heddle Weaving Group (Cricket Club) completed their Peruvian Diamonds project. This project refreshed us on Leno Lace and taught how to use supplemental warp. We also learned techniques for finishing woven linen cloth once removed from our looms.
If you have a Rigid Heddle Loom you may join our group by contacting the Fiber Art Shoppe. We also give beginner lessons on rigid heddle loom use.

NEW FALL HOURS
Friday 1pm - 4 pm Shoppe is open for shopping; Beginning crochet/knit lessons and "Next Steps" crochet/knit project help. The knitting nook is not available on friday.
Saturday 10 am - 4 pm Shoppe is open for shopping; and knitting nook is open. Please feel free to join us in our knitting nook on Saturday for open knit and crochet. We have a wonderful group of individuals who gather here.

The Fiber Art shoppe is the Largest Yarn and Fiber Shop in Iowa. We have a unique and very large inventory of yarn, fiber, fabric and supplies for mixed media fiber art. The shop is located in a beautifully restored Victorian building on the historic Albia, Iowa square.
