And Sew On...  February 4th, 2019

Long-arm Anyone?

Image

The first time I heard the term "long-arm" was when we started the purchasing process of Arizona Quilts. My mind's picture of this reference was a big power forward on a basketball team with long arms who's main job is blocking shots. Soon into our process that idea was dispelled as we were educated in the nuances of long-arm quilting. As many of you know, Vickie has been our long-arm quilter since Mike retired and is doing a great job, I might add. Last summer Debe and I were "cogitating" and she suggested adding another long-armer to our team. Being very honest, as a production guy in the print industry for over 40 years, my pride did take a hit ... why didn't I think of that? But I quickly got over it! A short time later, Debe said to me "I believe I have met the person who fits the bill". After a bit more cogitation, we approached Patsy and she was very excited about the opportunity. With a few months of concentrated training under the watchful eye of Vickie, both ladies believed that she was ready to go solo. Adding Patsy to our long-arming corps has enabled us to utilize the machine 6 days a week, thus reducing our lead times to 4-6 weeks.
Since I am talking about long-arming, both the gals asked me to mention that sometimes they get substandard backing fabric which really diminishes the quality of their work that they can produce. If you ever have a question, please come by with a sample for them to inspect. Our goal is to help your masterpiece to be even more beautiful!
We hope you will stop in soon and let either Vickie or Patsy give you an estimate on your next project.
For those of you who have utilized this service, we say Thank You for trusting us with your treasures.

Happy Long-arm Quilting!
