WELCOME 2019!
I hope everyone's New Year got off to a great start!  Mine got off with a "BANG" as I will tell you about later in the GAB.  But first.....
FLORENCE KNOLL
A bit of sad news as we entered 2019.  Florence Knoll passed away at the age of 101.  What an icon!
She was considered a "trailblazer" to some and to most of us an inspiration.  Her design education included studies with Walter Gropius, Marcel Bruer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.  #foreverknoll #foreverinspirational

LUNAR ECLIPSE

Super Blood Wolf Moon - January 20th 2019!
The Lunar eclipse was spectacular!  I had to brave the elements (go outside!) to observe and experience this amazing event.  The trees surrounding our house make it extremely difficult to see anything at night.  So, there I was outside around 11:30pm-ish in my pajamas with my down coat on, hood up, boots on and a blanket wrapped around me.  Such a bad visual- I was a sight to behold.  Interestingly, this particular full moon is also called a BLOOD MOON due to the reddish tint and also a WOLF MOON for the increased wolf activity during January.  Who knew??? Wow! Nature is once again at its finest putting on a show for free.  #spectacular #howlatthemoon

MY UNEXPECTED "TRIP"

Thankful for mall security
It all started on a particular day when I had planned to go to the King of Prussia mall at lunch to return some shoes I ordered online.  (Yes, I try to order shoes and clothes online - only to end up returning them because they don't fit right!  I can't tell you how much I LOVE the feeling of false hope...but I keep trying.)  Anyway, I ended up going to lunch with some women from the office and when I left the office I realized that I still had to return the shoes I had purchased "online".  Unwillingly, I drove myself to the mall.  I successfully returned the "online" shoes when all of a sudden - I am leaving the mall and.....what's this?  They are renovating the mall near Pottery Barn!  In all my excitement I started toward the construction to check out what was going on.  As an interior designer I love to see new finishes!  I am walking and looking, noticing there has been tile removed and exposed concrete and all kinds of equipment and.....that's when it happened.  I took a "royal header".
I thought my knee caps were destroyed! I was pleasantly surprised they felt pretty good when I started to get up - but when I tried to stand up , something wasn't quite "right" - I couldn't put pressure on my right foot.  Ohhhh my!  That's when all the DRAMA started!  The security lady told me that I needed a wheelchair.  The gentleman from security gave me an ice pack and wrote up the "Accident Report".  HOW EMBARRASSING!  All the time I was thinking "I can't drive home!!! It's my right foot!"  My husband insisted on coming to get me, but since it would have been 2 hours before we got home, that was out of the question. You guessed it....I drove myself home.  It wasn't too bad, however, using the brake with my left foot was a bit challenging.)  Remember when you first learned to drive and you would slam on the brakes?) The next morning I called my doctor but he wouldn't be in until 2 pm - so off to Urgent Care where I was x-rayed.  I found out I had a bad sprain. Hooray!  No broken bones!!  My ankle was wrapped and I was given a not-so-fashionable "boot" to wear.  Here is the clincher.  I was told "No driving for a WEEK!"  Seriously?
Well that's not going to happen. UGH!  For the first time in a long long I was a good patient and stayed home for almost a week (almost).  I had two of the best cat nurses available.  I was never at a loss for attention.  The biggest problem was trying to find room on the sofa AND I was covered in cat hair most of the time.  All is good now!  I am walking like a PRO, however, hopping on my right foot is not an option.  #purrfectnurses, #nomoremalltrips

PHIL PREDICTS AN EARLY SPRING!
Image
Image
Do you believe it?  This is crazy....do we REALLY BELIEVE A RODENT WEATHER FORECASTER?  Apparently!  So this year when Phil emerged from his home on Gobbler's Knob making his celebrity guest appearance, SPRING was in the air!  It's purrfect sense (sorry I had to do that!)  What's wrong with me???  It's snowing right now.  But it's Spring. LOL.  You have to love it.  Phil has been predicting sine 1887 (WOW that's a long time!) and 19 times he predicted an early SPRING.  With his predictions being 35%-40% accurate, I can smell the flowers blooming!  #philtherodentweatherforecaster

PHILLIPS CONTRACT GROUP - NEW SHOWROOM!
Image
I am excited to share with you an AMAZING, MUST-SEE new showroom located in Fishtown (aka the land of opportunity).  Super-star Josh Phillips of the Phillips Contract Group has acquired a fabulously wonderful space above the Distillery located next to the FILMORE.  The showroom is screaming industrial.  The building is part of the Ajax Metal Company plant which smelted and refined brass and bronze while in operation.  It is also listed with the National Register of Historic Places.  Very, very COOL!
Stay tuned for future events with Kershner Office Furniture at the Phillips Group new showroom coming in the spring!
Josh represents the following lines which I KNOW you will all want to see:
Allseating, Darran, ESI, Logiflex, Merge Works, Open Plan Systems and Special T Tables.
