The most amazing thing happened a couple weeks ago! My husband and I were doing our normal Sunday errands like shopping, CVS, Target, Home Depot and PetSmart. On the weekends PetSmart stores invite local cat rescues to help find homeless cats/kittens new homes.
We usually swing by to the cats/kittens every weekend and send them positive energy and love and tell them they will soon find a forever home. But.........this Sunday was different. I know you all know where this is going. No surprise here! THERE SHE WAS! Sweet as could be. I just knew she was meant for all of us (Ash and Simon included ) "feline intuition"? Yep, we did it! Within a week she was ours!

Her name is Corbu (for obvious reasons - see below)* Jolie (which is French for pretty). Corbu Jolie - it's her and I love it! We love her to the moon and back. She is totally beautiful and has long black hair with a spot on her chest and yes, she does talk, cat talk. I am totally sure it's French (Bonjour Madame). When she runs, she looks like a little skunk (so cute - our very own Pepe le Pew). We are keeping her in the guest room until she adjusts to the house. Ash and Simon has been very inquisitive. This past weekend Corbu got to meet both Ash and Simon. I think we have a long road ahead of us. There was quite a bit of hissing and growling (this tiny little thing GROWLS...Yikes!). Ash has got the closest - about 2 feet away from her. Simon runs - but it won't surprise me if someday he lets her have it. Believe it or not - every day gets better. Hopefully by Christmas we will all be one happy family. I can't believe it??? Now we are 5!!! I am so EXCITED! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! #weloveyoucorbuashandsimon #supportyourlocalcatrescues

"Sip and See" - Phillips Contract Showroom

We had our first "Sip and See" at Josh Phillips Showroom May 8th. Josh is the owner of the Phillips Contract Group. He has a must see showroom which is located in Fishtown near the Filmore. Josh reps the following lines: Allseating, Darran, ESI, Merge Works, Special-T, and now HIGHTOWER. HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY. I love love love HIGHTOWER!!! The Sip and See included but was not limited to the following................ PhilipsContract Furniture Lines, Kershner Office Furniture (of course), Interface Carpet, and MDC. On a sad note I.M.PEI passed away in May. He was 102 years old. He will always be remembered for the East Building at the National Gallery in Washington DC and the iconic glass pyramid at the entrance of the Lourve. His work included commercial skyscrapers and art museums. He also was the architect that designed the Society Hill Towers in Philadelphia and the Jacob Javits Center in New York. This year's theme was "The Impact on Human Health". There is a definite Wellness trend that is and will be having an impact on the approach to designing interior spaces and environments. #thisiswhatdesignisallabout. The following are a few highlights of the show: Scandinavian influence in furniture design, Acoustical products are most plentiful, Private phone booths are hot, Biophilia trends key in the wellness design aproach, and color trends are warm and cozy tones almost hints of the 80's could be seen throughout the show.
Most designers agreed the OFS Showroom was spectacular with warm woods and the use of the peach/blush. The Obeya, Leanto and Kasha were hands down a favorite. One other note: For all those that attended Neocon, The Weather Gods were looking down on you. I think everyone got out of Chicago this year without a rain delay in the airport. The People's Choice Award for our Par-Tee Golf Shoe Design competition went to HSA with over 1,000 votes!! Congratulations Team HSA!!!!
Yes, they were the team that did those super cute golf shoes with Yellow Peeps on top. So, on June 4th I joined the Team HSA for a PEEPS Party Lunch to celebrate their victory. All the HSA team was in full attendance, so it was super special.
I discovered at the party that one of the architects lives on the street I grew up on in Springfield (DelCo). How coincidental? Yes, I grew up in wonderful DelCo. I did learn at the Peeps lunch that there is an Upper DelCo and Lower DelCo. Wow who ever knew that???? It was amazing the news they shared with me about Springfield and the surrounding areas.
We had tons of fun and lots of laugh! HSA is AWESOME and they like to eat!!

Finally.......... Happy Birthday to Mary, my mom! She will be 102 at the end of this month. She truly makes me smile. She still worries about her hair and makeup at 102. How wonderful is that? At 102 and she still wants to look pretty. Happy Birthday Mom you are a very very pretty lady. Love you to the moon and back!!!
