Some are just starting to show color,
the rest are still in bud or just budding.
Garden Mums may or may not come back the next season. It depends on how long they were planted in the ground, the temperatures during the winter, and how protected they were during that time.
For the best success of overwintering keep your garden mums soil moist as winter approaches. There is no need to prune back plants until the following spring. Yoder Brothers of Barberton, Ohio has proven, by experiment, that mums cut back in early spring, instead of fall, survive hard winters better.
Mulch the plants, once they have turned brown for the season, after several hard frosts with straw or evergreen branches, etc. In spring, remove any old stems (a rake works fine) and gradually remove the mulch.

Igloo Mums

An Igloo Mum is a little different than her other garden mum sisters. Unlike her kin, she can withstand some cold weather, hence her icy moniker. Igloo perennial mums were specifically developed by breeding traditional garden-type chrysanthemums with the perennial “Sheffield”-type mum, which has great garden hardiness (-30 degrees F), which makes them true perennials.
None of the igloo mums are in bloom. They will start blooming over the next month.
