When you think "Christmas in Richmond",
what is the first thing that comes to mind?

If you or your kids grew up here in Richmond, you might have "kicked off" your Christmas season at Miller & Rhoads with...

Legendary Santa!

The real Santa Claus has been visiting Richmond for the holiday season, since 1936 when he first came down the chimney at Miller & Rhoads department store.  All the other mall Santas?  They are just Santa's "helpers" because the REAL Santa, Legendary Santa was at Miller & Rhoads, accompanied by the Snow Queen and the Singing Elf.

Legendary Santa moved from Miller & Rhoads, to Thalhimers, to the Richmond Convention Center before settling at The Children's Museum of Richmond!

ELFIS had to visit Legendary Santa!

For those who experience it, Legendary Santa is magical!  Dressed in their Sunday best, children of all ages look forward to sitting with Santa who magically knows every child's name and shares a bit of tea and reindeer cake!
In the spirit of sharing traditions like Legendary Santa with future generations, ELFIS wants you to share the art of needlepoint with future generations...

Many thanks to The Children's Museum of Richmond for allowing Elfis to come in after hours and take a few selfies!  He was impressed by the Christmas Village, taking a few minutes to explore the six holiday traditions celebrated by our Richmond neighbors!  Did you know there's also a skating rink?  (They don't have skates small enough to fit, or Elfis may have taken a spin around the "ice"). Click here for more information about the Children's Museum and their Christmas display!
