April - Carol Clemens
Interlinings, Interfacings and Stabilizers
What’s the difference? What should you look for? Why are there so many?
This presentation will talk about how the products are made, advantage and disadvantages of each.
We will look at the difference ways the materials are made. We will look at woven, knit and nonwoven constructions. When should I use a fusible or a sew-in? Whether you are constructing garments, embellishing with embroidery or making a bag, there is an appropriate product for you.
Let’s talk about your favorites and why?

A trip to the zoo is the focus of Kids sewing Camp this year. You will spend a week creating projects to help you move around unnoticed: your camouflage vest and sun visor let you fit in with lions and tigers. Inside your light weight backpack you’ll carry a reusable snack bag and first aid kit. Your fun T-shirt bag will hold an adorable baby cuddle quilt to wrap up your own little pet at home -- and all created by you! Each day we will take a lunch break so please pack a healthy lunch and beverage.

Want to expand your cork bag-making skills? The Lola (pattern by Swoon Sewing Patterns) is a small handbag in a classic domed shape that can be easily customized. Join Sara Young as she shows you how to modify the pattern for an all-cork bag, including the best interfacing to use, how to install a curved zipper, add cork overlay embellishments, install different types of strap hardware, and make perfectly finished straps! Bring your lunch and spend the day making this awesome little bag!
