Dear Miller ICA Community,

I am writing with the news that in response to the health threat posed by the coronavirus pandemic we have cancelled programming for the balance of the semester, including the CMU School of Art MFA and Senior Art exhibitions. This decision centers care for our community and we hope that by taking these preventative measures we can reduce the harm caused by COVID-19.

We recognize how disruptive and disappointing this situation is for many people and we only arrived at this decision after very careful deliberation and consideration. Our hearts and thoughts are with everyone impacted by the many canceled events here and elsewhere. We are thinking especially of the students who were planning to exhibit with us this spring and of our colleagues in the arts and cultural sectors around the world. Artists do the important work of interpreting contemporary life and making meaning of difficult circumstances. The vitality of the arts relies on open and public platforms for connection and exchange. We look forward to resuming our programs supporting artists as soon as possible.

In the meantime, take good care of yourself and be well.

As ever,
Elizabeth Chodos
Director
