And Sew On... Mar. 23rd 2020

We hope you are safe and doing well!
Recently I have been venturing out to the grocery store mainly to purchase fresh produce, fruit and other things with a short shelf life.
One morning last week I got to my neighborhood Fry's just before 6:00 a.m. to try and beat the masses to purchase a few paper products. This concept quickly dissipated when I walked up to the store and saw about 100 heads in front of me. So much for beating the masses! The above-left picture was taken at that same Fry's later in the week on the canned soup aisle. Last week I also saw a post on FaceBook that Costco was going to be open from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. to only "Seasoned Citizens" giving us a fighting chance before the throngs of folks hit the doors. Me being a newer member of the 60 and up club, thought I would take full advantage of my maturity. As I pulled into the parking lot and assessed its overall capacity, a smile dawned my face as it didn't seem excessively full. Cautiously I headed to my normal side of the lot then walked to the front door to pick up a cart. As I passed the already formed line, it really didn't look that bad. Wow this is awesome! Pushing my cart almost gleefully to the first break in the line, a nice lady smiled and said, "Sorry, the end of the line is back there!" All of a sudden my mind raced to the scene in the movie "The Christmas Story" when Ralphie hears these exact words waiting to see Santa! Ralphie, like me, couldn't even see the end of the line. My eyes then scoured the parking lot only to find a huddled mass of people and carts in the furthest northeast corner of the asphalt which was the back of the line that looked to be at least a mile long. It soon became clear that some TP, paper towels, and the delicious honey smoked salmon would just have to wait.

Let's now transition to the above picture on the right of our great customer, Betty M. Earlier last week Betty had come into the store and saw a bolt of fabric that she loved, but did not have a specific project in mind for, so she then decided to forego the purchase at that time. After a few days of cogitation, she came back in to search for that same bolt with the perfect blend of colors in it. At first her hunt seemed to be futile, but she did know of a similar group's name which enabled our team to direct her to the exact bolt she was looking for - eureka!
As the saying goes... "a picture paints a thousand words"
and Betty's face is a Picasso!
As we move forward, just know our shelves are full, our staff is eager to assist, and the thousands of beautiful colors that surround you in our store can be that calming force in the midst of the storm.

We are truly thankful for your continued support and want to say again if you would rather shop from your home, please browse our website www.azquilts.com and feel free to order for pick up in-store or USPS shipping. We will also continue our curbside delivery, so please utilize whatever means you are most comfortable with.
Our store hours will be shortened to
Monday - Saturday 10:00am - 3:00pm
until further notice.

I will continue to say "This too shall pass!"
