SHARING NEWS, THOUGHTS AND GREAT PICS!!

As things are happening around us and changing minute to minute, it is comforting to stay in touch and connected. Previous enews mail sent from us have given ideas and media for safe and fun ways to stay connected, engaged and involved in the doll community. This is such a booster for our mental, emotional and physical health. I hope that connecting with you and sharing emails and pictures with each of you, dear friends, will brighten your day and your heart.

Annamaria Joubert, a friend and dollmaker from South Africa wrote: "Dolls have got me though the worst times in my life. My dolly friends stood by me and encouraged me when I was down. This hobby is more than just being creative. It’s about a whole network of friends that share a passion and keep you going when things are rough and celebrate with you when you are up."

Terry Reuther Quillen of Nashville, Tennessee, longtime antique reproduction dollmaker and veteran journalist with her latest novel being, Bon Ton:Debutantes, Dilettanes and Murder shared:

"Throughout our shared history, art and creative pursuits have lifted us above the travesties of our times. We find ourselves amid such a travesty now.
Thank you Dollspart for providing us with the supplies we need and the inspiration that feeds us. May you thrive as a business in these times that are unsure on many levels.
The great dollmakers — Bru, Jumeau, Thuillier, Halopeau, Kestner, the artisans who made up SFBJ, and all the rest — thrived during tumultuous times. They inspire us today. So do the wig and shoemakers, and, most of all, the magnificent couturiers who created fashions for the bébés, poupées, and kinderpuppen of the 19th and early 20th centuries, not to mention the young girls who dressed their Bleuettes during both World Wars and the Cold War.
What they — and we — all have in common is our love for imagination, for creativity, and for European style. It encourages us, it delights us, and it inspires us to something that transcends our times.
May we rise to our moment. May we cheer those we love with our gifts. May we bring joy to those around us and inspire those who follow us. May we create."

Creating is what is keeping us going and busy during this turmoil. We are hoping the words of inspiration above and the pictures below will provide you joy and appreciation for our shared passion.
