In this world of video messages, video conferences, video classrooms, and even video churches, many of us are getting more accustomed to, but not loving, this new mode of keeping in touch. Reaching out via video is the next best thing, but will never replace having that personal face-to-face contact. We have made a concerted effort to help spread our message by utilizing the video platform of Facebook Live. Our intention to publish a FB Live video weekly on Wednesday mornings has, for the most, been consistent. However, as the old saying goes ... "the good Lord willin and the creek don't rise," there are weeks that the creek does rise and our FB Live does not get published. We love giving shop tours, showing off some fun projects, and debuting new lines of fabric that are hitting the back door weekly.
As we have traveled down the FB Live road, some of you who have followed us for a while may remember that last year we participated in a video shop tour challenge from one of our vendors, The Jaftex Companies. Scott Fortunoff, the Jaftex President, has extended the invitation again and we have risen to his challenge. Last Friday we shot a FB Live video that was reposted on Scott's FB page last Saturday. We would truly appreciate it if you would respond to our video and share it with your FB friends as there are prizes earned for the shop with the most views (see link below). Just a reminder, that when you share our post, it exposes us to thousands of people. We would also love it if you would "Like" our FB page so that you won't miss any fun posts of what's happening around the store. When you like our page, you will be alerted when we are going "Live" so you won't miss any new products that have hit the floor and may even be privy to some collections as they are coming out of the box so you see them when we see them! Pretty exciting!

Learn to machine applique by making this fun "Happy Holidays" sewing tree that is perfect to hang for the holidays or to give that special quilting friend as a gift! This seasonal wall hanging features just enough ease curves for you to master this advanced skill and want to do more! Try your hand at making the smaller project in class. You'll leave with the expertise to make the larger wall hanging on your own!

Fiber Arts - Stupendous Stitching w/ Deb will be held on Thurs., Aug. 20th from 10am-4pm. Create stunning textured fabric art to display on your walls, use in home décor and make into fabulous accessories. Combining hand embroidery, beading, decorative machine stitching and couching, this technique is fun and addicting. The fabric choices will help you make this an exciting and fun fabric art piece!

Happy Hauler Bag w/ Nanette will begin on Thurs., Aug. 21st for 2 sessions from 9:30am-3:30pm (2nd session is Sept. 4th). Use your favorite panel to create this large tote bag that is 20" tall, 18" wide and 12" deep - so you can carry just about anything. Learn some different techniques for making this bag that are easier and less time consuming...and don't be afraid of the zipper!

Intertwined w/ Susan will be held on Sat., Aug. 22nd for 2 sessions from 10am-3pm (2nd session is Sept. 19th). Come strip with me...no really - learn to use the Strip Tube Ruler or get reaquainted to create a fabulous quilt! No pre-work required! Come and have some fun with me!

Sun Catchers Table Runner w/ Martha will be held on Mon., Aug. 24th from 10am-3pm. The easiest of the curved pieceing projects. No set-ins or fitting curves together. Make the table runner in class - then let's talk about designing a larger quilt for you!

ABC's of Quilting w/ Susan will begin on Wed., Aug. 26th for 5 sessions from 9am-12pm. This is a great class for beginners or those who might want to freshen up their skills. Even if you have taken her class & would like to re-visit this, stop in and Susan can customize something just for you!

Animal Portrait Mixed Media w/ Deb will begin on Thurs., Sept. 10 for 2 sessions from 10am-4pm (2nd session is Sept. 17). Animal lovers, let's turn your photo into a work of art! You will learn a unique pattern design technique combined with mixed media & thread painting to create an eye catching art quilt! Learn to create animal portraits through realism applique, thread painting and paints, pastels, etc.

Jolly Twister Gnome w/ Nanette will begin on Fri., Sept. 11th for 2 sessions from 9:30am-3:30pm (2nd session is Sept. 25th). Use a Twister Tool to create this whimsical winter gnome scene. Sizes range from 14"x18" to 67"x85" (with many in between) depending on the size of the Twister Tool you choose! Learn how to keep the twists all in order to create this cute holiday project!

Back by popular demand, you can get ready for the holidays with this creative Christmas tree. Using a layer cake or your holiday stash is a great way to make this tree. Nanette will even show you how to add lights to make your tree really sparkle!

Fiber Art-Cheesecloth Art w/ Deb will begin on Thurs., Sept. 24th from 10am-4pm for 2 sessions (2nd session is Oct. 1). Imagine using nothing but cheesecloth and thread to create a masterpiece of your own! This class will teach you how to do just that. Layering different kinds of cheesecloth, dyed cheesecloth and more, you will create a portrait that is unique!

Fiber Art-Create One of a Kind Fabric w/ Deb will be held on Mon., Sept. 28th from 10am-4pm. Learn to create one-of-a-kind fabric with specialty paints. How fun would it be to create an entire piece of art with fabric you created? You will start with a solid white fabric and go crazy with paint, stencils and more. Learn the different mediums to use for exquisite color on fabric. The sky's the limit!
