BATS is now CLOSED for donations and shopping until we reopen in our new barn in, very roughly, a year or so.
As the pictures attached to this message show, we are now in the process of emptying our beloved barn. The barn will be dismantled to make place for the new Bryn Athyn Church Elementary School which is to be built in the fields next to the barn. We are very happy and thankful that some pieces of our current barn (wall boards, floor boards, beam) will be brought forward into our new barn.
The final days in the barn were very busy with shoppers buying things and very full of heartfelt words of thanks for all that BATS has come to mean in people’s lives. “BATS is my therapy, my peaceful place! What am I going to do without you?” are the words that were spoken over and over again.
BATS, in the new barn, will happen!

Thanks to a dedicated and creative force of volunteers and small shop staff, Bryn Athyn Thrift Shop, affectionately known as BATS, is able to offer an unusual variety of merchandise at low prices. All of these generous gifts have culminated in a fun and interesting place to shop and explore - a place that many refer to as their haven. Proceeds go to the Bryn Athyn Church and its elementary and primary schools. |
