The Immaculate Heart of Mary signifies, first of all, the great purity and love of the heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary for God. This purity is manifested in her “Yes” to the Father at the Incarnation, Her love for, and cooperation with, the Incarnate Son in His redemptive mission, and her docility to the Holy Spirit, enabling her to remain free of the stain of personal sin throughout her life. Mary’s Immaculate Heart, therefore, points us to her profound interior life, where she experienced both joys and sorrows, yet remained faithful, as we, too, are called to do. In 2023, we celebrate the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on June 17 (EWTN).

HAVE YOU TAKEN THE OLC SURVEY YET?

As we prepare to celebrate our 50TH ANNIVERSARY in 2024, we need your help! We're trying to track interest in a celebration and also to locate early patrons who have knowledge, stories and/or photos of our early history for possible publication. Please fill out this survey and contact Manager Christine with any info or materials you may have.

Responses have come from 25 unique zip codes!
One quarter of respondents hail from just two parishes (St. Louis & Resurrection EC), and the other three quarters from over 20 others. That's quite a draw! The pie chart to the right is a colorful illustration how OLC really is a thriving regional Catholic hub and a destination in the heart of Maryland.

Click the button below to complete the survey. It takes just a few minutes! Thank you!

OCTOBER
"Finding God Through Caregiving"
a Talk by Michelle Laque Johnson

Saturday October 6th, 12:00 noon
Michelle is the author of "Walking the Way of the Cross for Caregivers," an excellent resource for those of us struggling to provide emotional and physical support for those we love who are suffering or incapacitated. Mgr. Christine recently met Michelle at the Catholic Marketing Network Conference just days after having the book recommended to her. As a caregiver herself for her 101 year-old-mother, Christine has found this book to be immensely encouraging and insightful, and she can not wait to hear Michelle's talk. Michelle cared for her own beloved husband until his passing and also experienced the loss of her vibrant sister, Marian Frentz, founder of the TASTE Program at St. Mary's in Laurel.
Michelle's talk will take place in the Conference Room and will be followed by a Q & A and book signing.
November and December speakers to be announced!
