Tickets for our Annual Hummingbird Banding Event at Smith-Gilbert Gardens are on sale now! The event will be held the morning of Saturday, August 26th. Try to sign up for the earlier time slot, if possible. That's when we catch the most birds.

Look closely at the right leg and you'll see a tiny metal band with a unique number. Banding is done with proper state and federal permits and all data is submitted to the

Monteen with Hawk Talk, a rehab for birds of prey, will also be at Smith-Gilbert on 8/26 with Fiona, her educational ambassador. You can hold her with a Mouse money donation!

Fall is just around the corner and we are here for it! Migration is just starting and will ramp up during September and October. Cooler temperatures, college football, pumpkin spice, trips to the mountains to see leaves and pick apples, and birding (of course)--we love it all! Welcome the season with fun indoor and outdoor decor and gifts for the home and garden. We have lots of great collegiate merchandise, too. Go Dawgs!

Fun for the whole family!

The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is a citizen science project created by the University of Georgia. It's designed for everyone to participate and make a difference for pollinator conservation. You can easily count in your yard or favorite garden, but be sure to visit the GSEPC website beforehand for count instructions!
