What is the Seven Sorrows Rosary Devotion?
Come Learn About it!

First Saturday, September 2nd, 12:00 pm, Conference Room
Those not familiar with this powerful devotion are invited for an introduction. Following 10:30 am Mass & First Saturday Devotions and Benediction, come down to the Conference Room for a brief presentation by local devotee Geeta Etwaroo, who helped start the devotion here at OLC. She will cover the origins of the devotion and the connection with Our Lady of Kibeho. Seven graces are granted to the souls who honor her daily by saying seven Hail Mary's and meditating on her tears and dolors (sorrows).

Our Lady of Sorrows' Feast Day
Friday, September 15th, 11:00 am
The next opportunity to join us to pray the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows of Mary together will actually be on her feast day!, as it lands on a Friday this year.
It is prayed in the OLC Chapel every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 am.

(Photo: Recently, Mgr. Christine had the joy of speaking with Rwandan genocide survivor Immaculee Ilibagiza at a weekend retreat in Malvern, PA. Immaculee is a well-known champion of this devotion. We are hoping she will come to OLC sometime in the future).

OUR LADY'S CENTER WILL BE
OPEN ON LABOR DAY
REGULAR HOURS WITH MASS

Blessing of All Who Labor
Monday, September 4th, 12:00 Noon Mass
The Noon Mass intention will be for the sanctification of all who labor to support themselves and their loved ones. We will pray especially for the welfare and safety of all our patrons who are employed, seeking employment, or in danger of losing employment. The Catholic understanding of Labor Day is that the dignity of human work is rooted in the dignity of the human person who is made in the image and likeness of God.
Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.

Our Lady's  Birthday Celebration will take place in the Conference Room. Birthday cake will be provided. Bring flowers for her or gift her a promise in your heart to
amend some personal fault out of love for her.

Feast of the Exultation of the Holy Cross
Blessing with the Relic of the True Cross
Thursday, September 14th, 12:00 Mass
Join us for a special opportunity to to be blessed with a sliver of the actual cross upon which Our Lord died for our salvation! Our Lady's Center is the humble steward of this relic which is displayed only twice a year, during Lent and on the Feast of the Exultation of the Holy Cross, when we celebrate St. Helena's discovery of the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The integrity of the relic inside it's antique reliquary was recently verified by Msgr. Jeremiah Kenney. It is one of a number that were bestowed upon Catholic bishops by the Vatican early last century.

DAVE & JOAN MARONEY TALK:
Holy Souls, "Lost" Souls & Divine Mercy
Friday, October 27th. 1:00 pm in the Chapel
(Blessed Sacrament will be reposed during talk)

Witnessing the monstrosities and injustices being perpetrated in our world, it is easy to feel that some people are so evil that they would never, could never, turn to Divine Mercy. They appear to be hopeless cases, but are they? And how much actually relies on us and our prayers for them? Will we be held accountable for our lack of faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to convert even the hardest of hearts? Are there loved ones (and loathed ones) foundering in Purgatory with no one to pray for them? As we approach the Feast of the Holy Souls, let us examine our understanding of Divine Mercy and our own role in the salvation of sinners, even those who have long since passed.

Dave and Joan Maroney, directors of Mother of Mercy Messengers, are returning to speak at OLC in anticipation of the Feast of the Holy Souls. Their previous talk on Divine Mercy and the Illumination of Conscience, recorded in the OLC Chapel last Spring, has already garnered over 140,000 views on YouTube!
