Birds in our yard
this week...

Several warblers, including Black-throated Blue, Northern Parula and Tennessee Warblers (pic above) are passing through. These tiny travelers are coming in for grapes, watermelon and dried mealworms on our deck. We have also seen Bay-breasted Warblers, including the one pictured below who flew into our house through an open window (right over my head!) Luckly I caught and released him before our dog and cats found him.

Although most Ruby-throats have migrated south for Winter, some late stragglers are still moving through. Keep your feeders going until at least November 1st, or better yet, leave one or two up for possible western species like Rufous (female in photo), Calliope, Black-chinned and more. Thirteen hummingbird species have been documented overwintering in Georgia. You won't prevent Ruby-throats from migrating and if you're lucky, you can host a special visitor and provide a critical nectar source
for them.

This has been a glorious Fall week--warm, sunny days, cool nights and mornings, lots of migrating birds stopping by. It is truly our favorite time of year! Our Kennesaw, Buford, Marietta and Canton stores are full of seasonal home and garden decor, gifts and more, and we are getting ready for the Christmas season. Come see us!

We are in the final two weeks of closing down our ROSWELL store located at 900 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. All merchandise at this location is now 40% OFF. Selection is limited, but there are still some great deals to be found. There are bookshelves, glass cabinets and displays for sale. We also have some Lundia stockroom shelving for FREE if you want to bring your drill and remove it in the next weeks. Check with Rachel, our store manager, if interested. Roswell customers, please shop with us at one of our other four locations after October 26th. Our Marietta (East Cobb) location is only 7.6 miles away.
