It's been an incredible week for migration. Seems like everyone is seeing more Rose-breasted Grosbeaks this year. Thank you for sharing all your photos on our Facebook page, we've really enjoyed them!

We started off with one female on Monday, but could hear a male singing up high in the trees. The next morning we were up to at least three females and three males on the feeders.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
It varies daily, but there are easily a dozen in the yard now. They have been visiting all of our feeders, especially the tray feeders filled with Cole's Hot Meats, Hot Pepper Suet Nuggets and Dried Mealworms. Sunflower Meats/Hot Meats and Black Oil Sunflower are definitely their
favorite foods.

They also love the Mr. Bird Flaming Hot Feast Cylinders. Like the Hot Meats, the seed is treated with hot pepper oil which the birds don't taste.
But it keeps squirrels and raccoons from devouring it. We do feed our squirrels lots of raw peanuts to keep them happy.
