During the hotter months, don't be alarmed to see birds splayed out in the sun, looking pretty rough. They are simply caring for their feathers and skin. Click here to learn more about birds sunning.

Keep an eye out!
Most young Ruby-throats have fledged their nests and are starting to visit our feeders. Juvenile males are easy to identify as they will not have full gorgets (pic above). Young females look pretty much like adult females, so they are difficult to age. Hummer numbers will continue to increase this month, peaking in August and September.
