During the Fall, some of the best foods for migrating birds are high calorie berries--pokeberries, elderberries, wax myrtle, sassafras, Virginia creeper and native viburnums are all great choices. Catbirds, tanagers, orioles, vireos, thrushes and lots of other species rely on them to survive their journey.

If you don't have berry bushes in your yard, you can always supplement with grapes, watermelon and dried mealworms! We attract several warbler species to our deck during the Fall for fruit offerings.

Tennessee, Cape May, Bay-breasted, Black-throated Blue and Northern Parula Warblers are our most common takers.

Water (especially moving water) is another way to bring in migrating birds! Watch your birdbaths and water features...you never know who might drop in.
