Joanne Sharpe
Artful Lettering Book Tour class

We are adding a second session for Joanne's Lettering Class, on Saturday, November 8, for those of you who are not able to make a Friday Class. Joanne is a great teacher ...not to be missed...you will get so much from her class. Same cost and time. This is the same class as is being offered on Friday, so same supply list applies. You can check out the details here.

***Friday, November 7-All day class with Joanne Sharpe
On Friday, November 7, Joanne is returning to hone our lettering skills. This is called the "Artful Lettering Book Tour" class. In this class you will create a journal just like the one shown in her book, and Joanne will cover about a dozen of her favorite techniques for the book.

For all students in either the Friday class or the Saturday class..all tombow markers will be 30% off.

This journal will serve as a great source of inspiration for you, and you can practice and add to the book...and even make new ones as it fills. If you already have a copy of her book, The Art of Whimsical Lettering, you will need to bring it to class, along with a composition book, a few glue sticks, and your "pen stash." (We currently have the book on hand for purchase, if you do not have one. If you are taking the class, you may receive 10% off of the book price.)  It is not required to have the book, but it will be helpful.  Also, some smaller pieces of decorative paper, or scrapbook patterned paper will be a good addition to the book.
Here is the official list of what to bring to class.
STUDENT SUPPLY LIST: Bring a wide ruled, school grade hard cover composition book, your favorite lettering markers, small watercolor (pans) set, black pens, alcohol markers (i like Copic, ), black waterproof pens like Micron or Pitt, pencil, eraser, glue stick, assorted washi tape.
***BOOK PURCHASE HIGHLY SUGGESTED FOR EACH STUDENT ***Students will learn and elaborate on several techniques from my book to start their inspiration journal.  Book signing during class work.

Class space is limited, and the class cost is $65, non-refundable.
Class will run on Friday, Nov. 7, from 10am-4pm, with a lunch break.

After the ordering mix-up was solved, we finally have a  supply of the smaller  gauge, fine line applicator in stock now. This is the adhesive that Pam Carriker told me would work well...this plus PVA glue, which is on its way in.  This is the 20 gauge needle tip. It works well with fluid acrylics and glues. The 18 gauge works well for heavy body acrylic paints.

Silhouette Ongoing Learning...
Here is Cathy's note about the November meeting...

"Will be pulling out my Silhouette and the new pen holder that allows the use of a variety of pens. Will share the results at our meeting on Monday, November 3rd at AE, at 11 am
Also, will be working up a demo of the Silhouette Blog posting of "text to path".
Maybe being too ambitious, making (and challenging you to do the same) some creative gift tags.
Last time we met, we played with some of the Silhouette products, interfacing, vinyl., etc. I will bring more of them and if we have time, try them out.
Would like to know who will be there, so I can bring enough supplies.
Always, always, want to see what you have made with your Silhouette.
Hope to see you there!!
Cathy

We now have a Silhouette group that meets here once a month and they have their own blog.  All the info about meetings, what to bring, when to come, can be found there. If you would like to join our group, there is no fee, and you can bring your Silhouette machine and laptop, as we have wifi in the store. Find the Silhouette Blog here.

Classes
a few notes...
All classes will need a minimum of three people in order to run, and we will give you a 72 hour notice if we need to cancel, in which case, you may take your refund as store credit or cash/cc refund (usually in the same form that you paid in.)

If you need to cancel a class on your part, here's the deal...
If it is a class taught by us, people here at the store, you need to cancel before 72 hours time, in which case you will receive a refund. Cancelations after this time period will receive the class supplies, and whatever is part of the class handouts. No refunds for cancelations after 72 hours before the class starts.

For visiting teachers, from far or near, there is a no refund policy for all classes. You may give it to a friend to use, if you wish.
