Get ready for the Gazebo Concert Series!
|
|
|
|
|
This summer, starting July 9th, every Sunday afternoon from 2 pm until 4 pm, come listen to music at the Gazebo in Children’s park off South Broadway in downtown Lake Orion. This free concert series is open to people of all ages and is sponsored by the Lake Orion DDA, Oxford Bank, the Lake Orion Review and 20 Front Street music.
Everyone who attends the concerts will be eligible to win a different prize each week, provided by local downtown merchants.
The “Balloon man” will be there making twisty animals, flowers, butterflies and even “rocket” balloons for the kids.
During the concerts, Lockhart’s BBQ carry out service will be available in the park, offering their “Take to the Lake” menu. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.
New this year, attendees will be able to purchase ice cream from the 20 Front Street creamery, located right across from the Gazebo.
Bring a chair and enjoy free fresh popcorn and water bottles provided by Oxford Bank while you listen to musicians from all over Michigan as they play Americana, folk and bluegrass music.

On July 9th, singer/songwriter and 20 Front Street “Dirt series” alum, Steve Taylor , blends soulful music and intimate lyrics, while performing acoustic hits, including his own song “Uncommon places”.
On July 16th, Orion Music Center’s own Nick Schillace will be performing with Jennie Knaggs in their acoustic duo, Lac La Bell. Influenced by early Americana, the music of Lac La Belle seamlessly blends history with the present, to create stories that capture the human experience. .
On July 23rd, 17 year old Grace Elizabeth Lee, a singer/songwriter from Detroit will be performing, sharing her poetic lyrics, hummable hooks, & powerful voice which have been capturing national attention.
On July 30th, local voice coach and singer, Jennifer Kincer will be performing with Lia K. Catallo and friends. They will be playing an acoustic set of pop covers and original hits.
On August 6th, Flint based singer/songwriter Ashley Peacock will present dynamic acoustic songs straddling the line between the worlds of Brit pop and Americana.
On August 13th, staple of the local music scene, Jaime Marvin will be playing guitar and singing straight from her heart and soul across many musical genres.
On August 20th, listen to Detroit Music Award winning songwriter Mary Maguire. Her music merges elements of folk, rock and pop, often with poignant lyrics and complex harmonies.
Due to Dragon on the Lake festivities, there will not be a concert the following week of August 27th.
The last concert will feature the singer/songwriter duo, Escaping Pavement. Emily Burns and Aaron Markovitz offer the beauty of acoustic music and the warm rejuvenation of two vocal intonations that perfectly complement one another.
