They never need to be polished and can go from oven to table. That kind of range reminds of me of a certain actress who broke our hearts in Sophie's Choice and made us crave butter in Julie & Julia. Speaking of Meryl, did you know she was turned down for Jessica Lange's part in King Kong because she was too ugly? I'm guessing that casting director was offered an early retirement.
