Hello, everyone! I hope all of you are having a fabulous summer. I don't know about you, but I feel like we just celebrated July 4, and here we are, knee-deep in back-to-school shopping, and looking ahead to Halloween, and all the holidays that follow. As we move into the end of the year, Gourmage has a lot of new, fun exciting things underway; but that doesn't mean the existing special things are going away. We'll be telling you more about goings-on in the coming weeks. But for now, we wanted to offer you news about our Cheese of the Week, and to remind you about our upcoming class schedule. Our classes usually sell out pretty quickly, so if there's something you're interested in, call us to reserve your spot(s).

Cheese of the Week
This is my mom's favorite cheese, so in light of her recent visit, I've chosen it as our COW (cheese of the week). First off, it's beautiful; some of you refer to this cheese as the "birthday cake" cheese.
Secondly, of course, it's delicious. The five layers of Stripey Jack cheese represent 5 English counties; Leicester, Gloucestershire, Lancashire, Cheddar and Cheshire.
The layers of this gourmet cheese are made up of medium-aged cheese, each offering up a lovely, mellow, traditional cheddar flavor. It pairs well with a Garnache wine (like our super-popular Honoro Vera). Paired with a Gourmage baguette, you're all ready for a "too hot and humid to cook" dinner.
