Christopher's Art Talk will spark your interest in watercolor! Christopher decided he wanted to become a fine artist so he left a successful career in graphic design to travel the globe solo at age 51. For 7 months he traveled to 25 countries painting his experiences in watercolors & it changed his life!
So what is this medium 'Watercolor'?

Watercolor painting is the process of painting with pigments that are mixed with water & applying them in a series of transparent washes that allow light to be reflected from the surface of the paper through layers of color. This technique gives watercolor its unique glow.
For that reason the fluidity of the medium is what needs to be mastered. An artist must learn how to balance control & freedom to create a beautiful watercolor & Christopher has successfully accomplished that!

Of all the painting processes, watercolor painting is known for its inherent delicacy and subtlety because watercolor art is all about thin washes & transparent color. Letting the white of the painting surface gleam through lends itself to the luminosity of the painting.
