I love painting abstractly. I always begin with a realistic base, presenting an idea I want to express. I may begin with one composition and then veer in what is to me a more interesting direction. Standing back and seeing what's working. Emphasizing that special part and reprinting what is not. I want it to hold together, relying on composition and design. I also still have the desire to paint representationally. I guess it fills the need to see something beautiful and or interesting and attempt to record it. Fortunately, nature provides the composition and design.
