Welcome 2021!!
2020 was definitely one for the books...and not one I care to read again! However, for all the tragic and stressful parts there was some good that came out of it. Some of us got really good at using technology...Zoom was a life saver for many of us. For KnitWorks Zoom kept our knitting groups connected and helped to reduce isolation for many. We also got our website up and running. Woohoo!! For others, they developed great baking and bread making skills, learned to sew, or finished that stack of WIPs that have been sitting there for...well, let's just say they had been there for a while. It is important to find that silver lining to 2020.
I appreciate all of your support during this difficult year. Thank you for shopping with us online and in-store when possible and for trusting us with your knitting and crochet needs. Thank you for keeping us in business during this challenging year.
So...what's next?
Casapinka and Emma's Yarn
One of our favorite designers, Casapinka, is re-releasing her shawl pattern, Botanique, in February. Emma's Yarn is putting together 6 gorgeous kits for the pattern. These kits are available for pre-order and will be delivered in time for the release of the pattern. The kits may be purchased in store or online. We'll kick off a fun KAL to go with it. Details for the KAL will be released in February. You can also create your own kits with yarn we have in stock, should you choose. There will be a few kits available after the pre-order, but stock will be limited.

Les Marmites/The Cauldrons
Les Marmites or The Cauldron was designed by my friend, Lucinda Iglesias, who owns Mont Tricot in Sutton, QB, Canada.
According to Lucinda, "This wrap was inspired by Sutton’s best kept secret Les Marmites des Sorcières ( the Sorcerer’s Cauldron) a beautiful watering hole that is tucked in between the mountain where a small river creates basins amongst the boulders which are a delight to dip in on a hot summer’s day.
This wrap starts off with a circular motif that will be the central motif of the wrap. Once the centre motif is completed, each side is worked separately. The centre motif will be off centre for an asymmetrical design. Each side is squared off to create a rectangular shawl."
This shawl would be perfect for our new Feederbrook Farms Entropy DK, which creates beautiful color changes as you knit. Quaker Hill would be a perfect solid for this and we also have tonals coming in from Feederbrook Farm, which should arrive within the next week or so. I'm working on a sample for the shop.
The pattern is available on Ravelry.
