A good problem to have. . .well, sort of. . .

We are so thrilled with all the great spring and summer clothing consignments you are bringing us! And thanks also for the lovely pieces of furniture and quality home decor. We can almost believe that spring is not too far away to see outdoor consignments-wind chimes, garden art, candle holders. Soon our adorable Easter decorations will be on the sales floor. Thank you for all of this and more! We so appreciate our partnership.

As most of you already know, Rare Bird Consignment Boutique is a two-woman show: Mary, the store's owner and creator, proprietress, decorator, sales person and driving force, and Linda, the back room inventory clerk who is currently inputting as fast as she can to get everything into the computer and out on the floor.

So here is the good problem: The two of us simply cannot keep up with the quantity of consignments that are coming in. And with Covid-19 still not under control, Mary doesn't feel comfortable or safe hiring additional staff. So for the time being, we are asking for your help:
  • Please, no drop-in consignments. Make appointments via Setmore. (Please click here to access or set up your account.)
  • Please clearly label your bags, bins, or boxes with your name and phone number.
  • We will only take fall and winter consignments if those items are in separate bags (also with your name and phone number on each bag). At this time, most incoming fall/winter items are moved to storage and will be input later in the summer and put on the floor during our FALL REVEAL.
  • Kindly limit clothing consignments per appointment to 35 items.
  • A contract update: Consigned items expire 60 days after the date of input. After that time, unsold items become the property of Rare Bird and may be sold, moved into storage, or donated to Treasures. If you want your unsold, expired items back, you must contact Rare Bird and make a return request at least one week before the expiration date. If your expired items have already been moved to storage, you will be charged a $35 "retrieval fee."
Thank you all so much for your unwavering support during what could have been the worst possible time to open a new business. We all keenly recognized the need for another quality consignment and resale boutique downtown, and thanks to you, we've made it happen!
