Have you seen
Atlanta's latest star? Birders and paparazzi have been flocking to Stone Mountain Park to get a glimpse of a very rare visitor - the Varied Thrush pictured above. This western species has been seen around the campground for the past month, thrilling bird watchers. The last Varied Thrush documented in Georgia was in the 1980s!

AAS is once again awarding two scholarships to attend Audubon’s renowned summer ecology camps, one for a student and one for an educator. Camp fees and up to $300 travel expenses are provided. Recipients attend Audubon Camp at Hog Island in Maine. Visit their website if you or your child is interested in Puffins, exploring maritime forests, coastal ecology and more. My son went to Hog Island on an AAS scholarship several years ago and had the time of his life!

Hi, BirdWatchers!
We are very fortunate to have such great employees, many of whom have been with Bird Watcher for years. They love feeding birds themselves and are always happy to help customers design a new feeding station, solve a squirrel problem, pick out the perfect gift or just "talk birds." We've asked them to share some of their favorite products in this newsletter. And did we mention they are all adorable? :)

Kayla is the manager at our Kennesaw store. She loves the new Seed Buster Tray from Brome. "It's large enough in diameter to catch any seeds those silly birds drop out for their furry friends below." It fits all 1" poles, has drainage holes and comes apart easily without having to remove your feeder for easy cleanup. The spacious design adds more perching room for larger birds like cardinals, jays and doves.

Gina is our Roswell store manager and she really likes our awesome umbrellas from Galleria. "I love these cute and colorful umbrellas because they are so unique and make great gifts, especially for spring!" We have a huge selection from which to choose, so add a little fun to function! Rainy days don't have to be dreary.

Cindy, our manager at Buford, picked the Squirrel Buster Legacy as her favorite new product. "It is super easy to refill and clean. Birds love it! Squirrels don't!" This newest addition to the Squirrel Buster line is weight-activated so the moment a squirrel tries to feed, the metal skirt closes and denies him access. The design of this feeder is similar to the Standard feeder, but is larger and holds more seed.
We weren't sure what our customers would think about these vibrant Kromatix Wind Chimes when we placed our order at the Mart, but Marietta store manager, Debbie, loves them and is selling them like crazy! "The colors are so much fun and the sound of each chime is AMAZING!" Each one is hand tuned and made in America by QMT. Listen for yourself here! They would make a fun wedding or birthday gift this spring!

And last but not least, we have our Canton store manager, Allison, who loves the two-toned green recycled plastic feeders from WoodLink. "I really love the durability of these hoppers. They are easy to clean, made in the USA, birds love them, and they're GREEN!" We agree!

So there you have it - a few super staff picks if you need a new feeder or gift this season. Thank you, ladies! Spring is just around the corner and we hope to see you in our stores soon!
