The Solar Sipper Hummingbird
Feeder

is a favorite of hummers during the day, and enhances your garden at night as it changes colors!

Speaking of lighting up, check out this Nexrad image from April 14th. Those blue circles are birds migrating! During spring and fall, millions of birds are flying overhead nightly as we sleep - so many that they show up on radar! Flying conditions are better at night, and the birds land at dawn to rest and refuel on insects. If you're lucky, you might spot some of these warblers, tanagers, buntings and many more!

If you'd like to see spring migrants like this
Indigo Bunting (above), head out on a
field trip to one of our local birding hotspots with the Atlanta Audubon Society.
Bird walks are FREE and open to members and non-members.

Take advantage of the time spent outdoors in the evening by listening for the calls of Chuck-will's-widows and Whip-poor-wills, Barred and Screech Owls, frogs and crickets. Watch for luna moths and bats flying overhead, or raccoons, opossums, and even flying squirrels scampering around your birdfeeders. It's a whole other world of nature-watching... nocturnal style. Don't miss out!
