Turkey Trot 5k for Parkinson's Research

Registration for the 2nd Annual Turkey Trot 5k Run/Walk and 1 Mile Gobble Wobble -- A TeamFox Event benefitting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research is now open!
The Turkey Trot is more than just a race – it’s an opportunity to get up and off the couch, get active with the family, work up an appetite for the feasting and celebrate the start of the Season of Giving!
All participants will receive a race t-shirt, a race bib, a race "swag" bag with giveaways and coupons, the race itself, and great post-race refreshments. Pictures of you finishing are available for free downloading as well! |

Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Holiday Half Marathon for runners that showcases beautiful Wakefield Park, Lake Accotink, and the Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail.
The race will be held on Sunday December 11, 2016 starting at 9:00 a.m. Race headquarters, the start and finish line and parking is at Wakefield Park.
Runners can expect a premium experience starting with pre-race entertainment, a winter and holiday themed decorated course, scoring and awards, and an incredible post-race celebration including the awards ceremony, post-race breakfast buffet, and vendor expo.

Join us on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 9am for an 11k run and 5k run/walk to celebrate Veteran's Day at beautiful Wakefield Park.
After finishing, we'll welcome you back with a terrific assortment of tasty treats!
There are two distances for this event:
- 11k which WILL be officially timed and scored
5k which WILL NOT be officially timed and scored

October 5 is International Walk to School Day. The first National Walk to School Day – called Walk Our Children to School Day – was held in 1997. In May 2012, the first-ever National Bike to School Day was celebrated across the USA.
