It's October.....and officially Autumn. HOORAY!! I know it still feels like summer but at least it has stopped raining....at least for a while!
This is the month of the Great Pumpkin and Charlie Brown! WOOOO!! It is truly one of my favorite months. I love the fall foliage, all the beautiful colors of the leaves, pumpkins and pumpkins and more pumpkins, apples, butternut squash, apple cider, cool crisp nights, frost, the re-appearance of sweaters and fall festivities of all kinds!

And HALLOWEEN! OHHHH YES. Halloween and goblins and bats and spiders and cobwebs (Yuck!) and witches and ghosts and YIKES we really love the scary stuff (for one day!) But wait! The best part of Halloween is the CANDY. Yes, yes, yes. Those little snack size candy bars that we think we will eat just ONE and we end up eating half the bag (just like potato chips!) It is truly the start of Holiday feasting. What??? Holiday Feasting. #MilkyWays #Turkeyiscomingsoon

I am sure you have all noticed the onslaught of the many pumpkin spice flavored foods! It is truly amazing. Here are some of my favorites: Halo Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream, Auntie Anne's Pumpkin Spice Pretzel Nuggets, Dunkin Donuts Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee, KIND Caramel Almond Pumpkin Spice Bars, Bailey's Pumpkin Spice Liquor. It's polarizing! So I ask you....Pumpkin Spice - YES OR NO??

PARKing Day Philadelphia! This is such a fun event. We collaborated with none other than the infamous Nicole Marengo and team Madison Art to create our "park-let". Nicole is amazing! She has an enormous amount of energy, she is extremely creative and talented and helped make our job easy this year! The PARKing Day theme was Playful Learning. We titled our parklet "Hope, Love and Joy". We encouraged all that passed by to join in an artful experience through our artist workshops which included picture taking, cloud painting and message sharing. Artists Perry Milou, Project Joy Studio and Sean Martorana joined us during the day. Special thanks to: Sue and Ivy Krug, Jerry Benn (BAM Associates), Andrew Vandiver (Corbett Inc.) and Dan Toomey (AIS) for supplying the fun furniture. And of course, we could never do it without the help of our own Joe Sparacino and Billy Englehart. Celebrity guest appearances included Deb Breslow from Meyer Design Inc. and Richard Mark...who is just famous for being Richard Mark....RIGHT?? HOORAY!!! It was AWESOME! #community #collaboration

Flea Market Flip: Sarah Keefer @ Global...you own this event. You are totally amazing pulling it off for the second year in a row! The event is all about giving back to the community. Thanks to Habitat for Humanity for hosting the event and providing the design team with the furniture to be "re-purposed". The design teams are given 90 minutes to create a re-purposed functional piece. At the end of the event, all of the design team's pieces are auctioned off with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. This year's winners include: Meyer Design for the "Highest Bid" and "Best of Show", and DCC for "Most Marketable Furniture". Congrats to all the winning teams. Thanks to all who participated in this year's event for a very worthy cause. #designersforaworthycause #supportinghabitatforhumanity

Design Philadelphia: This event started on October 4th and ends October 13th. There are various events and open houses, strolls and lectures throughout each day. This event is growing every year! Please visit the Design Philadelphia website for a listing of events. Kershner Office Furniture partnered with Humanscale to present a CEU called "Beyond Sustainability - an Evening with John Strasser" at the Humanscale showroom. The amazing Pasquale Capocci was a fabulous host for the event and John Strasser gave a very eye opening lecture on sustainability. #sustainabilitythenextgeneration
