SPECIAL ACTIVITIES THIS MONTH

Image
OLC will be OPEN on Labor Day
Regular Hours with Mass
with a Blessing of All Who Labor

Monday, Sept. 7th, 12:00 Noon Mass
Our 12 Noon Mass intention will be for the sanctification of all who labor to support themselves and their loved ones. We will pray especially for the welfare and safety of all our patrons who are employed, seeking employment, or in danger of losing employment. The Catholic understanding of Labor Day is that the dignity of human work is rooted in the dignity of the human person who is made in the image and likeness of God. Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.

Blessing with Relic of the True Cross
on the Feast of the Exultation of the Holy Cross!
Monday, Sept. 14th, 12:00 pm Mass
Join us for a special opportunity to be blessed with a sliver of the actual cross upon which Our Lord died for our salvation! Our Lady's Center is the humble steward of this relic which is displayed only twice a year, during Lent and on the Feast of the Exultation of the Holy Cross, when we celebrate St. Helena's discovery of the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The integrity of the relic inside its antique reliquary was recently verified by Msgr. Jeremiah Kenney. It is one of a number that were bestowed upon Catholic bishops by the Vatican early last century.

Your invited to the
OLC Donated Rosary Crusade
for the Conversion of our Loved Ones
& Novena to Our Lady of the Rosary

Over the years, we have amassed hundreds of donated rosaries, upon which a countless multitude of prayers must have already been offered by faithful Catholics. Some of these rosaries are quite old, and most of their original owners have passed on. We decided it is time to put them back into service in a beautiful way, in petition for our dear ones, inspired by our founder's mother, Elvira Lancelotta, who prayed a rosary daily for each of her five sons to come home from WWII safely, and they all did!

Many are sensing that the time of mercy could be growing short and rightly fear for the salvation of loved ones. It is easy to feel helpless, even hopeless. Let those of us devoted to Mary instead unite in spiritual battle through enlisting the intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary aka Our Lady of Victory! In a very special way, let us complete the circle by also enlisting the Church Suffering in Purgatory and the Church Triumphant in Heaven in praying for our fallen away and unbelieving loved ones.

How to Participate in the Novena:
1) Choose a Donated Rosary
Come in to OLC anytime between now and Sept. 28th, and choose a rosary from our big basket of donated rosaries. Many of them have been brought in to us after the passing of an OLC patron. You can choose one for each of the loved ones for whom you will be praying the novena. Choose their favorite color or one with a patron saint for their particular struggles. In selecting a rosary, you will also be praying for the intercession of the prayer warrior who used the rosary before you (or their guardian angel if they are still living). Those still in Purgatory will be so grateful to be receiving your prayers! All rosaries will already be blessed with holy water and exorcised salt and so are powerful, battle-ready sacramentals! Modest monetery donations to OLC will be accepted for the rosaries on behalf of your loved one, if you so choose.

2) Write Their Names
Record the names of your loved ones in the intention book which will stay in our Chapel from the start of the novena until the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Your loved ones will be lifted up in prayer at every Mass.

3) Start the Novena on Sept 28th.
We will be praying the Novena to Our Lady of the Rosary together at our regular 11:30 am Rosaries in the Chapel, but you can also pray it on your own. Hold the Rosaries as you pray the Novena prayers. Novena is found HERE.

3) Consecrate on Oct. 7th!
On the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Wednesday, October 7th, come to 12 pm Mass and bring the rosary or rosaries you selected. Following Mass, we will Consecrate ourselves and our families to Our Lady with a faithful confidence in the coming conversion of our loved ones through Mother Mary's Intercession. Even if we do not live to witness their conversion, we shall know that they have been entrusted entirely into Our Lady's care through not just our own prayers, but those of our designated prayer warriors, those whose very hands held those same rosaries! And perhaps, just perhaps, you will be able to hand your converted loved one their rosary one day and tell them all about what was done for them!

4) Share Miracles!
Let us know when your loved one converts. We'll share the happy news that the novena was answered! We will wait in joyful expectation, because Our Lady assured us all that praying the Rosary everyday for our unconverted family members can merit for them the grace of conversion. "You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary." (Promise no.11 of the Fifteen Promises of the Rosary). If we live in a state of grace, we are personally protected from the diabolical, our tears, pain and suffering for our loved ones serve to purify us and sanctify us. Our prayers become more efficacious as we become holier (James 5:16). Our role is to pray, do penance and suffer for the conversion of our loved ones, thereby meriting the grace of their conversion.
