Our stores have just received a wide selection of new metal symbol charms and pendants. Choose from a variety of Egyptian symbols, and Ghanian Adinkras. The Adinkra symbols (on the right) were originally used in Ghana on cloth, but are now widely used for personal adornment. Each one has a special meaning: |

Gye Nyame- "Except for God", This symbol represents the supremacy of God

Dwennimmen- "Ram's Horns" symbolizes strength and humility

|
|
|
Duafe- The duafe was used by Akan women to comb and braid their hair. This symbol represents beauty and cleanliness

|
Sankofa- "Return and get it" Symbol representing the importance of learning from the past. There is another variant of sankofa, shown below

Nyame Dua- "Tree of God" Represents an altar created in a tree. Symbolizes God's prescence and protection

Coming Soon: Special Gemstone Trunk Show
Our Falls Church location will be receiving a new special shipment of gemstones including amethyst, andalusite, apatite, carnelian, emerald, fluorite, garnet, iolite, labradorite, peridot, Peruvian opal, prehnite, ruby, sunstone, and tourmaline! Our Dupont Circle location will receive a smaller sampling of this collection in case you can't make it out to Virginia. These beautiful stones will be available for sale starting on Friday, August 14 in Falls Church and on Thursday, August 20 in Dupont Circle. |
