We are going on a trip, I had too much in my suitcase, but look what a couple of vacuum packs and luggage cubes can do! (pat, pat) |

I am just finishing up a new version of LAP KITTIES using batiks. Click to see pattern.

| I finally finished my LAP KITTIES quilt, and it is hanging in the store. On Saturday, the class asked what batting I had used, as it was sooo soft. It is 80% Cotton, 20% Polyester from Hobbs (80/20). I think the batik wide back I used is also very soft and fluid, adding to the soft, cuddly effect! |

| What is is about CATS & SEWING? My friend Sylvia posted that question along with picture of her black cat, on the left. And on the right, my Meiko, napping on the quilt I have laid out to sew rows together. Made it a challenge! LOL |

Also, keeping softness & drapability in mind, I had the quilt quilted before I applied the appliques.
Then, I cut out the center of the paper backed fusible web product, before applying to back of the black fabric.
So, only the edges are fused, and I did a machine buttonhole stitch around all the edges. I really like how it turned out.
Ironically, I didn't get any pictures of the cats lying on this quilt. That would have been really cute, applique cats & real cats, who can tell the difference! LOL |

Tomorrow, we'll start a new SAMPLER QUILT CLASS. It will meet for 12 months, always on the 3rd Thursday of the month, 10 a.m. & 6:30 p.m.
You will make a FEATHERED STAR, using any color fabrics you wish!
We'll have kits for two versions and will be happy to help you with other selections & fabric placements too. Pattern included with class fee, so let us know if you already own this pattern.
First class: Thursday Sept. 17th. |

Last eletter I mentioned that our friend had won the "first pitch" at the Royals game. It was a blast! My husband got to catch, and I almost missed the entire thing when I noticed that Randy was on the Jumbotron!!!
